Dear LUDAN delegates and members,

My name is MARCELA CRISTHINA GUTIÉRREZ RODRÍGUEZ and I have the honor of being the President of this University League, it is a pleasure for me to welcome you to the first edition of LUDAN, which will take place at the Hex Hotel on the 29th and 30th of April 2022. MARICARMEN ZAMBRANA , as vice president, together with the founding members WILLIAM TINOCO AND ELI AZNAR , we are extremely excited to see this project, created after a long time, hard work and sacrifices, come to fruition in order to provide the possibility to all university students of the country, to develop their leadership capacities and skills, through the simulation of parliamentary models when representing different countries on issues of international interest.

Currently I am 19 years old and I am a fifth semester student of the Legal Sciences career at the American University "UAM", I also hold the position of President of the debate club of said Alma mater. My passion for debate began in 2018, as a high school student at Colegio Centro América, I participated for the first time in the conference “Towards Democracy” and served as director of the school's debate club, these experiences helped me to forge my character, responsibility and improving my oratory, prompting me to make the decision to study Legal Sciences, for that reason the debate for me is not just a hobby, it is a lifestyle and the way to analyze my surroundings.

The board of directors, the staff and the advisors, we hope that you will make the most of your participation in LUDAN. I am sure it will be a crucial opportunity in their work and personal future, allowing them to share the stage with colleagues from various careers, improve their formation of soft skills, such as public speaking, assertive communication, writing and research, put their leadership into practice.  Finally, do not hesitate to contact the members belonging to LUDAN, we are here to serve you and clarify any concerns that may arise during your preparation.
